DROGHEDA
Fiddle Case Pier, offering dedicated yacht and leisure craft mooring in the heart of the historic town of Drogheda, provides ideal maritime access to County Louth and is gateway to world famous Boyne Valley region and the UNESCO world heritage site at Newgrange. From here you will get to view the Boyne Viaduct on the seaward side of the town. Originally built in 1853 it is an iconic Drogheda landmark overlooking the River Boyne, and Drogheda Port. Here you will also find a monument to Admiral Thomas Charles Wright founding father of the Ecuadorian Navy.

Millmount Museum and Martello Tower situated on high ground overlooking the town is an ideal viewpoint to see the Ancient River Boyne, source of myth and legend, as it passes through the vibrant town of Drogheda on its way to the Irish Sea.

Interesting fact: There are several mentions in the Annals of the Four Masters of Vikings wintering on the Boyne, 60 ships were here in 837ad. In 2006, the remains of a Viking ship were found in the river bed in Drogheda during dredging operation.
