CARLINGFORD LOUGH GREENWAY

CARLINGFORD LOUGH GREENWAY

The Carlingford Lough Greenway winds along the shoreline between Omeath and Carlingford.  It is set in an area rich in geology, mythology, heritage, flora and fauna, and is an idyllic way to experience this spectacular tranquil landscape.  It attracts outdoor enthusiasts, cyclists and trekkers, yet is equally appealing to those who enjoy gentle strolls or family bike rides. You will be rewarded with sweeping views of the Lough nestled against the stunning backdrop of Slieve Foye Mountain and the Mountains of Mourne.

“Smell the sea and feel the sky,

Let your soul and spirit fly”

Into the Mystic by Van Morrison

Interesting Fact: The 7km Greenway follows the former railway line for most of its length between the Carlingford Marina and Omeath.
